CBME Academic Calendar for MBBS Total Duration: 5.5 years (4.5 years academic + 1 year internship)
Phase I – First Professional Year (12 months)
Subjects: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry + AETCOM + Early Clinical Exposure (ECE)
Foundation Course: First 1 month
AETCOM Module 1: Spread throughout the year
Early Clinical Exposure: Ongoing
Internal Assessments: At least 3 per subject
University Exam: At the end of 12 months
Phase II – Second Professional Year (12 months)
Subjects: Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine + AETCOM
AETCOM Modules 2 & 3

Phase III – Part 2 (Final Professional Year) (18 months)
Subjects: General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, OBGY, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, etc. + Electives + AETCOM
Electives (2 Months): Research, Community Service, Specialties
AETCOM Final Modules
Full Clinical Clerkship (Student-Doctor Method)
NExT Step 1 Preparation Begins
University Exam: After 18 months
Internship – 12 Months
Mandatory Rotating Internship across various departments:
Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, OBGY, Community Medicine, Emergency, Electives
